The first Lantern Tour of the summer season will be held at Historic Schoenbrunn Village Saturday, May 16th from 7 to 10p.m
The popular Lantern Tour will guide visitors by lantern light through the 17 cabins, schoolhouse and church of the recreated 18th Century Village settled in 1772 by missionary David Zeisberger. Costumed docents will be reenacting the time period throughout the village with various demonstrations including candle making, hearth cooking, native American cooking, colonial life and flint napping. Groups will feel as if they have traveled back In time as they carry their lantern through God’s Acre, the village’s cemetery, and the village as they walk from cabin to cabin.
The site also includes a theater, museum and gift shop. Refreshments will also be served.
Admission to the Lantern Tours is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, $4.00 for students. Under 7 is free. Historic Schoenbrunn Village is located in New Philadelphia, Ohio, off State Route 250, approximately 7 miles east of I-77.
