Oktoberfest to be Held at the JE Reeves Home

On Saturday October 3, 2009 from 5pm-8pm, the Dover Historical Society will host an Oktoberfest Beer Tasting in the Carriage House of the J.E. Reeves Home.  This fundraiser features the signature beers of the Great Lakes Brewing Company along with food and entertainment.  A representative from the Great Lakes Brewing Company will share information about how their beers are brewed, special ingredients, and other additional information about Ohio’s most award winning brewery.  Food for the event will be prepared by the Dover St. Johns Men’s Fellowship.  The menu includes favorites such as Bratwurst, Sauerkraut and German potato salad.

In addition to the beer tasting and food, the event will also feature Oktoberfest music by strolling accordionist, Matt Schafer.  Schafer is the host of the Saturday Morning Polka Show on WZIP in Akron, he has also performed with Polka legend Frankie Yankovic.  Tickets for the event will be $20.00 for members of the Dover Historical Society and $25.00 for non-members. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold. Your admission includes food, beer tasting, entertainment, and a Great Lakes Brewing Company beer glass.  This event is 21 and over only.

Our 2009 Oktoberfest is also an excellent opportunity to support the Dover Historical Society through event sponsorship. This year’s sponsorships are available at a $100.00 level and all sponsors will be recognized at the event and receive four complimentary tickets and a reserved spot at one of our tables.  Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or purchasing tickets may contact the Dover Historical Society at (330)-343-7040.
